This conference is designed for CTE educators, administrators, and industry professionals who are passionate about preparing students for successful careers in today's rapidly changing workforce. Over the course of two days, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about best practices, innovative programs, and successful strategies for creating career pathways that align with Wisconsin's CTE priorities.

2024 Keynote Speakers

Monday Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Alisha Hyslop

Dr. Alisha Hyslop has spent over 20 years working in career and technical education and is currently the Chief Policy, Research& Content Officer at the national Association for Career and Technical Education.

At ACTE, Alisha leads the organization’s policy, advocacy, research, program implementation and professional learning strategies to ensure educators across the CTE system have access to tools, resources and educational opportunities that enhance their ability to offer high-quality CTE programs to every learner. She has particular expertise on the Carl D. Perkins CTE Act and ACTE’s High-quality CTE Initiative. 

Alisha received her Bachelor’s in public relations and Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Florida State University, her Master’s in Career and Technical Education from Virginia Tech University, and her Ph.D. in Career and Workforce Education from the University of South Florida, where she developed specific knowledge of program evaluation and has served as an adjunct instructor. 

Tuesday Keynote Speaker:
Sharon Wendt

Sharon Wendt is the Director of Career and Technical Education at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction since 2007. 

As Director of the Career and Technical Education Team, she assists in the development and implementation of program policy and budget affecting career and technical education programs and services to enhance the educational, personal, career and social development of public-school students in Wisconsin.  

Sharon works with state and federal legislation, grants administration, and provides leadership support for district-wide collaboration, as well as for developing partnerships with employers and other community groups to better prepare students for all post-high school opportunities.
