Dr. Schraeder's Message

CES 95 Families:

We've made it to the fourth quarter of the school year! We will continue to support our students academically, socially and emotionally as we finish the year strong. As we continue with a hybrid learning model, all students will continue to participate in lessons from the social and emotional learning curriculum, Second Step.

Families also have access to free social and emotional tools at secondstep.org/covi19support. Families can create a free Second Step account at secondstep.org/covid19support. After creating an account, families with students in grades PK -5 should enter the correct activation key for your student's grade level. The activation codes are linked here. CMS parents can access Hot Chocolate Talk and Parent Teen Connect to explore ways to support their children. All families have access to the Grow Kinder (at Home) Podcast designed to help families through dramatic changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, we have created a list of other resources families can use to support their children socially and emotionally to help ease some of the anxiety that may exist as we experience an unprecedented school year. That list of resources is linked here.

We will continue to be prepared to pivot and make adjustments during these extraordinary times. I am committed to supporting our students during this time of new learning experiences! Please feel free to contact me if the need arises.

Best regards,

Latasha M. Schraeder, Ed.D.
