At the end of the intro Arete fellowship, Fellows are invited to work on a capstone project with HCEA support. Many fellows wrote a blog post for their project and this goes up at harvardea.org/blog (though the ones from this spring aren’t up yet). Some others though take on different projects. In the fall, there were new fellowships spawned at other schools by non-Harvard virtual fellows, and their capstones were to start a plan for these programs. Some participants arranged a talk with a professor or created infographic summaries of key readings. Last weekend was the Capstone Showcase, where interested fellows met virtually to talk about their projects and takeaways from the semester, and played virtual EA cards against humanity afterwards as a social!

The goals of adding this to the fellowship are to encourage people to explore an EA area of their interest further, and to practice more agentic engagement with EA besides just reading the materials we put on the syllabus. Also, they create really cool resources and ideas we all enjoy reading! I would definitely encourage other groups that run an intro fellowship to add a Capstone Project to their programs :)
