PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
The Work-Based Learning Program prepares students for college and careers by using internship experience. This strategy builds students’ skills and knowledge in their chosen career path and furthers their study within their chosen area of interest. Students will also create a work portfolio that can be used in academia or industry. Students will also understand management, team building, leadership, problem-solving steps, and processes that contribute to achieving organizational goals. The management of human and financial resources is emphasized.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Application/interview process required
Complete at least one advanced career and technical education course from a program or program of study with a C or higher. The student's worksite placement must align with the student pathway.
Minimum 2.0 GPA
Drivers license and vehicle required for internship
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
No more than three discipline referrals and no out-of-school suspensions
No more than ten absences per year Must be able to handle a very structured environment (rules, policies, procedures)

If you are currently enrolled in a program at Central Nine, talk to your instructor. If you are a prospective Central Nine student, talk to your high school guidance counselor.
