Central Nine Career Center’s job shadowing program is an opportunity for the student-learner to experience on-the-job training at a local business in their selected career. This is a non-paid position and will last a predetermined time as assigned by the instructor. The student-learner assigned to this job shadowing experience should only miss school during his/her assigned time at Central Nine.
STUDENT-LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the assignments as instructed by the instructor and host site that fall within the scope of this agreement.
Attend the program (Clinical/Job Shadowing) for at least 2 hours and 45 minutes each day you are assigned to attend.
Provide transportation to and from the host site. Central Nine Career Center, the participating high school and the host site are not responsible for accidents and/or any injury while traveling to and from the host site.
Notify the instructor and the host site when you are going to be absent from the host site.
Do not report to the host site on days absent from the participating high school unless prior arrangements have been made with the instructor and/or the school.
Only report to the host site on those days agreed upon by the instructor and the site.
Follow the rules and guidelines of the business at which you are assigned.
Follow the rules and guidelines of Central Nine Career Center and your participating high school while traveling to and from the host site.
Follow all safety procedures and dress requirements at the host site.
Keep all business matters in strict confidence.
Follow all directions of the instructor and host site coordinator/mentor.
Report to the instructor any problems or circumstances that affect the relationship between the host site and the student-learner.
PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the student-learner in carrying out his/her responsibilities.
Help provide transportation to and from the host site.
Contact the instructor when problems or questions arise concerning the student-learner’s experience.
Provide your child with medical insurance and/or financial responsibility as it will not be provided by Central Nine Career Center, participating high school or the host site.
HOST SITE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Allow the student-learner an opportunity to observe and/or gain hands-on experience at the host site for a predetermined amount of time.
Provide a safe and sanitary experience for the student-learner. This is a clinical/job shadowing experience and not a work study program.
Provide appropriate safety instructions to the student-learner.
Direct the student-learner during the experience.
Release the student-learner in a timely manner to return to his/her regular scheduled classes at his/her participating high school.
Contact the instructor when problems or questions arise concerning the student-learner.
CENTRAL NINE CAREER CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer the program and provide the necessary forms.
Select and choose various businesses for the clinical/job shadowing experience.
Select and choose the student-learners appropriate for this program. Instructor will follow guidelines set up for attendance, discipline referrals, academic success, and attitude.
Provide specific and/or general related instruction.
Act as a liaison between the parties of this agreement.
Coordinate with the host site to assign the dates and times of the clinical/job shadow experience.
