Headteacher Update

Dear Parents/Carers

As we approach the end of term and look forward to the upcoming spring holidays, I would like to take a moment to reflect on a couple of the experiences our students have taken part in over the past couple of weeks.

As always, our school has been abuzz with exciting activities and enriching educational opportunities. Our Early Years students were thrilled to welcome Arc Farm for a visit last week, providing them with a hands-on learning experience.  It was wonderful seeing the children's reactions to the sheep, goat, ducks and other animals on our playground. This week, our Year 2 students took a walk down to Cassiobury Park as part of their science curriculum, immersing themselves in the study of flowers.  Not only were they observing for their science but also applying their math skills - tallying all the flowers they could see.

As always, I would like to thank all of the staff, parents and children for their dedication and commitment to learning.   All of the staff are grateful for the continued positive partnership we have with you all.

As we head into the spring holidays, I encourage you to take this time to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with your loved ones. We look forward to welcoming the children back refreshed and rejuvenated for another term filled with learning and exciting experiences.

Wishing you all a wonderful spring break.

Kind regards

Mrs Wright

Mental health resources for children, students, parents and carers

Follow this link for information for useful links and sources of mental health support so that children and young people, parents and carers can get the advice and help they need.

The list found through the link is not exhaustive, and many other useful organisations and services exist, but it is hoped that these will help children, young people and their parents and those who work with them to navigate the key resources and get the support they deserve.

The NHS has 24-hour urgent mental health helplines available in most parts of England for people of all ages. Over the summer term, we will aim top provide you with lots of links to information on supporting your child's wellbeing.

Attendance at Central

ClassDojos

At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 92.38%.

Thank you for all of your support this term with attendance.  Have a fantastic break and we will see you on Monday 15th April.

Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.

If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please use this link as guidance from the NHS regarding sickness and attendance. https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery (please click the top link when redirected)

At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes!

1st place - Chestnut Class

2nd place - Oak Class

3rd place - Acorn Class

Donations

Dear families,

Thank you so much to those that have donated underwear and socks so far! They have already come in handy.

We would be very grateful for more donations so if you have any boys or girls underwear and socks that you are able to donate to school we would be very appreciative. All ages/sizes welcome and to be handed into the main office.

A gentle reminder that if your child does come home with spare items from school that they are washed and returned promptly.

Thank you for your support.
