Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a productive and enjoyable half-term. I am finding it hard to believe we've been back for five weeks already and this half term is nearly over.
Year 6 have been particularly busy this week showcasing their talents at Young Voices in Wembley. The staff and children returned with a real buzz and we know the children will have lasting memories from this that they will take with them as they move on later in the year to secondary schools. The teachers were incredibly complimentary about the children's behaviour whilst they were off-site. Well done Year 6.
Last week, we had the pleasure of watching Apple Class assembly. They did a super job and were not waivered by a technical hitch. The were resilient and kept going.
As always, we are looking forward to welcoming parents and carers to our spring term parents’ evening next week. Thank you in advance—we truly appreciate your engagement and support.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable half-term break when it arrives.
Kind regards,
Mrs Wright
Headteacher

English
In English, we have been working hard on understanding information texts. We’ve enjoyed the book, 'Why Water is Worth It', and the children have shown great enthusiasm when reading and writing about the water cycle.
Maths
In Maths, we’ve been focusing on fractions. The children have been using concrete resources and pictorial methods to help deepen their understanding. It’s been lovely to see their confidence grow and their willingness to tackle tricky problems.
Topic Learning
Our topic this term has included rivers in Geography, sculptures in Art, circuits in Science and Sikhism in RE. The children have loved learning the key facts, particularly the hands-on activities. They have asked thoughtful questions and made strong links with their learning in other subjects.
This week's Health Selfie is from Ms Prudentino who has been making a conscious effort to eat more fruit and vegetables. She has shared her shopping trolley and some of the amazing food she has been cooking.

At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 94.11%.
Attendance award:
KS1 - Pear 100%

Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours in Key Stage 2 by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes! How is your child(ren)'s class doing?
