My investigation focuses on my identity and how that has been impacted by outside forces. I have struggled with my identity as a person for a very long time, and I will be the first to tell you that I still don't fully understand myself. This investigation will explore my journey through life thus far, as I deepen my comprehension of who I am. Overall, I hope to gain new insight into who I was, who I am now, and who I will become.

This piece is about the current political climate of America. Borrowing a line from Emma Lazarus' The New Colossus, which is inscribed on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, this piece captures the dangerous waters immigrants must tread in order to be apart of this great country.

This piece is my interpretation of the meaddow behind my neighborhood. It is my take on an abstract representation of pure tranquility. The grass-like brushtrokes mimic the tall grass of the meaddow, while the white accents flow like sunlight hitting the water of a babbling stream.

This piece is about the catharsis that comes from an emotional breakdown. The sudden, violent outburst often leaves me feeling hollow and empty by the end: an emotional crescendo.

This piece is about my split from the Church. I have long struggled with my sexuality; constantly doubting myself at the hands of internalized homophobia. When I came out to my church, they suggested that I never act on my "desires" and devote my life to God. Put simply, I was a dirty sinner and needed to devote my life to repentance. Now, I understand that they were wrong, and any God that exists would love me for who I am.
