Artist's Statement
In attempts to understand myself more, I constantly dive into the complexities of art. In order to understand the whole picture, you have to study the layers. Adapting to new materials and finding different viewpoints gives a whole new meaning to a piece. Over the course of my year in AP Studio Art I continued my ongoing interest in the layers of emotion and artistry.

A woman's image of her body is distorted by the media. The black leaking into the image and the newspaper articles in the background resemble contamination, while the main media, the woman's body, is the expectation placed upon women.
