Centennial Parkside's 2nd Annual

BLACK MAN'S CONFERENCE

The 2022 Black Man's Conference on Saturday, September 24th at the historic Belmont Mansion was a beautiful success. YES, WE CAN!

Thank you to all of our participants, vendors, speakers, facilitators, and planners!

The day was full of peace, spirit, deep emotion, and soul-full sharing. Planning for the three missions have begun to take shape under the strong leadership of our dedicated Men of the Parkside, and incredible greater Philadelphia organizations.

If you attended the conference this year, please let us know your feedback!

A DAY FULL OF

Discussions, ACTIVITIES, Wellness, AND ENGAGEMENT

FOR

BLACK MEN OF ALL AGES!

WE EXIST.

  • To AMPLIFY the voices of Black Men - candidly, without filter, and unapologetically through real talks and conversations with peers and organizations.

  • To FORTIFY, validate and 'exactify' the greatness of African American Men by assisting through action initiatives and resourcing to rediscover what lies within.

  • To CELEBRATE what makes our BROTHERS of COLOR unique and valuable.

  • To RECLAIM AGENCY over our EXISTANCE without the interference of interpretation.

OUR MISSION:

To provide a space for retreat that facilitates reflection on how to best address issues of concern for Black Men, such as violence prevention, mental health, youth mentorship, safe corridors, walkability, and more.

This foundational event will serve to provide attendees with the necessary tools to return to their communities and implement immediate action initiatives and programs. It is intended to assist in developing a network of Black Men to work within their immediate neighborhoods to guide, support, and offer outlets for others through the process of workshops, thought sessions, and imagining creative strategies to build bridges of success through securing action-based initiatives. Black Men of all ages are invited to attend.

*Attendees can expect to take active part in Wellness Meditation, & Centering, Lunch + Keynote, Open Mic, and Break Out Planning Groups

The Belmont Mansion house/ museum is dedicated to colonial history and the 19th century network of people and places known as the "underground railroad."

Built in the early eighteenth century, the Mansion is one of the finest examples of Palladian architecture in the United States. The Belmont Mansion property became part of Fairmount Park in 1869, and is presently an underground railroad museum.
