In third grade we are learning about notes, beats and rests.
Here you have the story about Peter and the wolf.
We love music and we listen to music everyday.
There is a music style we are not used to listen to but it is worth knowing a little about it.
Talking about singing we are used to listen to singers who sing, more or less, in the same way but in Classical music, this is, in OPERA ,
singers have to develop a great singing technic because microphones are not usually used.
That is why OPERA SINGERS have such a peculiar way of singing.
In OPERA there are different type of voices, according to the variety of singers and the type of roles that have to be played on the stage.
In other music styles we have different voices too, although we don't usually classify them as in OPERA.
Let's see some examples, from different music styles of music where the voices change from one to another.
From the lowest to the highest voice we have:
Bass - Baritone (most common) - tenor - countertenor
BASS POP SONG
BARITONE ARIA. OPERA MUSIC
TENOR ARIA. OPEA MUSIC
TENOR DUET: OPERA SINGER AND POP SINGER PERFORM TOGETHER
From the lowest to the highest voice we have:
Contralto - Mezzo soprano - Soprano
Mezzo soprano aria. Opera singer
Mezzo soprano pop singer. Funny performance
Soprano Aria. Opera singer
