4-6 yr. olds T-BALL LEAGUE: is a non-competitive level for boys and girls 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of baseball. Players hit off a batting tee. Some playing rules may be modified to accommodate the need for teaching the basics of baseball and to allow players to experience the value of teamwork. TBALL players do not tryout; they will be placed on a team based on the number of players who register. Rosters are very flexible to accommodate families.


6-7 yr. olds INSTRUCTIONAL (Coach Pitch) LEAGUE: is for boys and girls 6-7 years old. It is a coach pitch division comprised of players with limited baseball experience. In accordance with Little League Baseball, Inc., players who are 6 years old are only eligible to play at this level if they have previously played at the T-Ball or Instructional Level and if they were not selected during the AA Minor League Draft.


6-8 yr. olds AA MINOR (Machine Pitch) LEAGUE: is for boys and girls 6-8 years old. It is a machine pitch division comprised of players with limited baseball experience. In accordance with Little League Baseball, Inc., players who are 6 years old are only eligible to play at this level if they have previously played at the T-Ball or Instructional Level and if they are selected during the AA Minor League draft.


8-12 yr. olds AAA MINOR (Players Pitch) LEAGUE: is for boys and girls 8-12 years old (with a local option for 8 year olds) who have some baseball experience but who are not yet ready to play at the Major League Level. Players 12 years old will be permitted to play at this level only if approved by all of the following: the parent/guardian of the child, the CELL President, the CELL Board of Directors, and the R.I. District One Administrator. All Star teams represent CELL at various age levels.


9-12 yr. olds MAJOR LEAGUE: (Players Pitch) is for boys and girls 9-12 years old and is the highest skill level of Little League played on the smaller field with rules closer to those of professional baseball. The level of competition is greater with the recognition of both regular season and playoff champions. All Star teams represent CELL at various age levels.


13-16 yr. olds SENIOR LEAGUE: is for boys and girls 13-16 years old. An introduction to baseball played on the regulation size field with rules very close to those of professional baseball. Players develop a deeper knowledge of the game and compete at a high level of skill. All four age levels are eligible for All Star teams representing CELL.
