Dr. Venkitaraj K P serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering Adoor, an institution managed by the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), a Govt of Kerala Undertaking. Dr. Venkitaraj completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College Thrissur (Calicut University), followed by an M.Tech in Thermal Power Engineering from NIT Trichy. He later pursued a Ph.D. at NIT Trichy, specializing in Thermal Energy Storage with a focus on Phase Change Materials (PCMs).
Dr. Venkitaraj’s research interests lie in advanced heat transfer techniques, specifically studying heat transfer mechanisms using nanofluids and exploring the potential of thermal energy storage systems through PCMs. With a prolific research portfolio, he has published many papers in highly reputed international journals with strong impact factors, enhancing the understanding of energy storage and thermal management. His research contributions have been widely recognized, with presentations in numerous national and international conferences. He has also authored numerous book chapters, adding depth to his research dissemination.
He has also led numerous student and seed money projects funded by CERD, KSCSTE, and TEQIP-II. His role as a reviewer for various international journals further highlights his engagement in advancing engineering knowledge and academic integrity. As a registered research supervisor with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), he is currently guiding two research scholars. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Venkitaraj serves as an editorial board member of the International Journal of Science Technology and Innovations, published by IHRD.
An active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Dr. Venkitaraj is deeply committed to both his professional community and academic excellence, contributing to advancements in mechanical engineering and sustainable energy solutions.
