I was inspired by The Backrooms and a game I played in Roblox(Limbobbia). I was inspired by the buildings in Sub-Level 2. I was also inspired by the various angles and colors of the buildings. I used a ruler and a graphite pencil to draw the angles of the buildings. I free-handed the objects in this picture. I used directional and color-based shading. Meaning I used sea green for shadows and yellow for a lighter shade. I want them to feel nostalgia as if they've been there before. I also want them to think about the common things in life they see. I think the hardest thing to draw was the objects and the contrasting angles and distances of the buildings in this drawing. If I started over I would use rulers and sketched boxes to first get an idea of the angles/sizes and distances of the objects/buildings in this picture. This art style is Surreal and Non-Objective. I like the idea of using different colors to shade the objects/buildings. I also like the various buildings and their interesting attributes.

Baseline Drawing

I was inspired by the card of a teacup sitting on a wooden table with blue/white wallpaper. I used a graphite pencil and a ruler to draw the straight lines of the cup and the cup itself. I free-handed the teacup handle in this drawing. I used realistic shading. I want people to see the cup and notice that it looks realistic. I think the hardest thing to draw was the teacup and its shadow because it was hard to match the darkness of the cup to the cup in the card. If I started over I would have studied the card more and drawn the teacup shading with more attention. I would have also paid attention to the cup size. The art style of this picture is realistic and non-objective. I like the use of pencil throughout the whole drawing. I also like the colored pencil blending.
