Baseball

11 ½ inch by 11 inch, regular #2 pencil and colored pencils, year 2022

I really didn’t know what to draw so I started thinking about what sports I like. So I wanted to draw something that was related to baseball so I started by drawing one baseball and kept adding more in different sizes. Eventually once I was done with that I wanted it to be more colorful so then I added flames and added some bright colors to them. I was inspired to draw this because of baseball and it being my favorite sport. I started off by using different objects that were different sizes of circles and traced them on the paper. Then I shaded the inside with the blending stick and added the seams with the regular pencil. After that I drew the flames and added color with the colored pencils. My artwork doesn’t mean anything to special but shows how much I like baseball. One of the most difficult parts for me was drawing the flames and what shape they should be because I wanted them to look similar but not the exact same. I overcame this by slowing down and thinking about what each shape should look like. One thing I would change if I started over would be to add more of a background. The style of this art is Non-Objective and I think it is unique because of the different shapes and sizes and the different colors I used. My favorite part about this drawing is the different colors that I used and also how the baseball is blended to all look a little different.

Mountain

11 inch by 9 inch, colored pencil, year 2022

I thought about drawing a mountain with snow but eventually I wanted to add a river and then eventually added a sunrise too. I was inspired by always skiing on mountains and also like boating on rivers so I thought how could I combine both of them in one drawing. I started off by drawing the mountain and then added a river. Eventually I added a sun to add another element to the drawing. I liked to look when drawing how things looked and if they would blend together good before putting them together. This artwork just shows how I like skiing and being up on the mountains in the snow. One of the most difficult parts for me was drawing the sun and making it the perfect shape and size so it blended in with the rest of the picture. I overcame this by keeping trying different things until I got what I was looking for. If I started over I would make the river bigger and look like you wer getting closer. I think my artwork is a realistic style because it is about nature. I think it is unique to me because of the way I color and what I like. One thing I love about my artwork is the different colors and shapes of the mountains.
