Chip and Dip Bowls:
For this project is didn't really have an idea I just knew I wanted to make a bowl. I rolled a slab and chose a pretty flower pattern for my bowls it was a place mat. I rolled the pattern and got the bowls shape, but is didn't know what I should do with the edges so I made them point up. But I still wanted to make them look better and different so I made them wrinkled into almost a star shape. Once I got it the way I liked it they got fired and lastly I glazed them I wasn't sure what colors to use but I chose a dark blue and a light blue. When people see this I want to think about how it is different than the other bowls. The most difficult thing in this was probably getting the shape how I want it because it took me a while to get the shape right. To overcome this I just kept moving it around until I was happy with how it looked. If I started over I would most likely change the colors which I might do later. This project is unique because I added the curves in the rim. I love the flower texture/pattern that I used on this project.
Magnet:
In this project I wanted to make some animal but I wasn't sure which one. Once I choose the star fish I started making the five arms. It was difficult to make them look the same. But when I finally got them how I wanted them I put a little ball of clay and placed it in the middle and attached the arms to it. I made a lot of little balls of clay and then attached them to the top. When I was done it got fired. For coloring this I used paint instead of glaze because it was a smaller piece and needed brighter colors. When people see this I want them to think about how nothing on it is perfect like how the arms don't look the same and the dots are not the same size because nothing is perfect and everyone is different in their own way. The most difficult thing when making this was making the arms as close to same as I could get them. To overcome this I took my time and shaped the arms until I was happy with how they looked. If I started this project over I might spend more time on the dots and make this a little neater. Something I wouldn't change about this project is that its a star fish I am happy with the animal I choose.
Pitcher:
This project I knew I wanted a flower pattern and a light blue or purple glaze. When I looked at the options for the flower patters I chose a doily with a pretty flower pattern on it. So I rolled a slab and used a rolling pin to roll the pattern on the doily onto the clay. Then I cut the shape that I wanted but the clay was to wet to make the pitcher that day, so I put it outside to sit in the sun for the rest of the class period. Then the next class period it was dry enough so I made the base and I approximated the edges of the slab and pinched the edges closed. Then I added The base and smoothed that closed. I couldn't reach inside the pitcher to close the edges so it doesn't leak so I used a paint brush. Then it got fired and I colored it with a light blue glaze. When people see this I want them to think that they can use older things that you might not use anymore like how I used the doily because those were really popular but now not so much but it made a really pretty flower pattern on my clay even though its not popular anymore I can still use it to make something new. The most difficult thing when making this was probably trying to close the seams on the inside of the pitcher. To overcome this I used the paint brush and took my time. If I started this project over I might have done a different color or more coats of the color I have now, but otherwise I think I like it how it is.
Pumpkin:
During this project our class was making pumpkins and I really want to make a smaller one. I started with getting coils and just layered those and blended them together till I had the the shape and size I wanted. Then, I added the dented lines in the pumpkin called the ribs. Next, I made the stem look more textured and realistic. I add the stem and blended it into the pumpkin then I put the stem in a loop. Finally, it got fired and I colored it with many different colors of glaze to make it look like an orange, and I did the same for the stem but to make it look like a multicolored green and brown almost. When the stem was fired the second time it kind of raise up which means I must have not attached it well enough. The most difficult thing I faced when making this was making the shape out of coils I had to keep redoing it but I finally got it and it may not be perfect but not every pumpkin is the same.
Spoon Holder:
I decided to do this project to give to my mom. I want to give it to her so went she is making any food she can set her spoon down and not get and food on the table. First, I rolled a slab and cut out the shape I wanted. Then, I took the extra pieces from the slab and made it into a straight line and attached it the the edges of the spoon shape I made. I blended them together and smoothed it down with a sponge. When people see this I want them to be thankful for the food their mother/guardian puts on the table for them even if they don't like it they still need to be thankful. The most difficult thing I faced when doing this is getting the right spoon shape because I didn't have a stencil so I had to free hand. To overcome this I had to take my time and try my best.
Waffle Tic Tac Toe Board:
In this art project I saw this on Pinterest and thought it would be cool to try and make. First, I started with a slab and cut out the square shape. I added a rim and smooth them together. Then, I traced out the lines and attached the clay lines and smoothed those together. Next, I Made little squares and triangles and smoothed out the corners
