Welcome to

5th + 6th grade @TUS

We're glad

you're here!

Welcome to 5/6 @Twinfield!

We hope you had an opportunity to enjoy the summer and are ready to dive back into learning. This year will certainly be unusual, but it will also be amazing! Fifth and sixth grades are both huge years for students to take ownership of their own learning and really dig into topics and issues that are meaningful to them. Students will also be supported in taking action based on what they have learned. It is going to be awesome!

Although we are working as a 5th and 6th grade team, the 5th grade students will be separate from the 6th grade students; each grade will be in the building on different days of the week. 5th grade students will be in the school building on Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Wednesday; they will be learning remotely for the rest of the week. 5th grade will be in the building on September 9. 6th grade students will start their week remotely on Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Wednesday. The rest of the week will be in the building. 6th graders’ first Wednesday in the building will be September 16.

Although students will have one homeroom teacher, our team will be working closely together to support all students. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any or all of us.

The best way to reach us is via ClassDojo or email since we don't always have time to check voice messages at school. If you'd like one of us to call you after school, please include the best number to reach you in the message or email.

Thank you,

Stephanie. Jeff, + Dan

  • ClassDojo: ClassDojo is a tool for sharing information from the classroom with families. Classroom updates will be posted on ClassDojo, so please make sure you sign up. ClassDojo is also a tool for acknowledging and tracking positive behavior. Students will earn points to use in class for positive behavior. Families can view their student's behavior data through their account.

  • Google Classroom: Google Classroom will be our central hub for online resources used both in class and for remote learning. Links to websites, online texts, and digital assignments will be posted here as well as student announcements and reminders.

  • Google Drive: Students will be using Google Drive to create and store a wide range of classroom work. Drive can be accessed at home so students can show off their work in progress.
