Welcome to the wonderful world of better communication. Clear communication is the goal of every individual so that they might achieve their potential both academically, socially and later in life, in the career of their choosing.
Currently, I work with students at Cannon North Elementary, Cannon County High School and preschoolers who may walk in for service or attend the Woodbury Church of Christ Day School.
I will be at my primary site of Cannon North Elementary daily. Students attending CCHS and the Woodbury Church of Christ Day School will be worked into my schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Should you need to contact me, you may do so at my e-mail address, kim.nichols@cstn.net. If you need to talk to me , please make sure you leave the best time to contact you in your message. I will most likely not be be able to respond immediately to your request, as I travel and am in and out of my room working with students. I will get back to you as soon as I am able. You may also leave me a message at 629-218-3178, extension 35141.
WALK-IN STUDENTS
For those of you who bring your child to therapy only and do not attend public school:
Should there happen to be an inclement weather related day, therapy will be cancelled that day. This will eliminate the confusion of what to do when the day has been amended to a late morning arrival. My therapy schedule follows the school calendar and notifications, therefore, if school children do not attend that day, your child will not have a therapy session.
Please do not bring your child for service if they are displaying signs of illness or your family members are ill.
For those of you wondering how to access services for a child whom you suspect has an need of assistance in the development of age appropriate speech-language skills:
You may contact me and I will help direct you to the specific person/agency who can help you or you may contact the director of special services, Julie Vincent , Cannon County Board of Education, 629-201-4801.
Beginning at age three, special services, which include speech-language therapy, are provided through the public school system, should your child meet the qualifications for such services. Prior to age three, services may be found through Tennessee Early Intervention Services (TEIS), 931-328-1623.
Together, I hope we can work to help your child clearly communicate in the ever changing world in which we live.
Kim E. Nichols, MSC, CCC-SLP
