Hello! I’m Mrs. Koster, and I teach English 9, English 10, and Professional Writing. This is my 10th year teaching (5th year at CCS), and during that time, I have taught English at every high school grade level, both in public and alternative schools.
Originally from the Southern Tier, I grew up in Afton, NY and graduated from SUNY Oneonta with my BS in Secondary Education: English 7-12 in 2015 and my MSED in Literacy Education 5-12 in 2016. I currently hold teaching certifications in both areas. My husband is Active Duty Army, so I moved to Watertown in August 2021, and started teaching with Copenhagen as the MS AIS teacher. I moved to the High School after Spring Break 2022. I have 2 wonderful children, Easton and Owen, and a goldendoodle named Enzo! I look forward to working with you this school year!
Questions: Email me at skoster@ccsknights.org or send a Parent Square. I will most likely respond between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
You must come to class with the following materials every day:
Whatever text we are currently reading (novel, short story, poem, non-fiction, etc.)
Something to write with
Your English binder or folder
A Charged Chromebook
Any assignment that is currently due
I want nothing more than for all of my students to find my classroom a welcoming and safe environment, where learning can take place. Therefore, when you step foot through my classroom door, you should remember that Room 220 is a place of kindness, mutual respect, and positivity.
Try your best! No one expects you to get a 100 on every single assignment. Sometimes, we need help, and that’s okay. As long as you are working hard, trying your best, and seeking help when you need it, you will be just fine.
