Diplomas, Caps & Gowns, Announcements and the Ceremony

  • Diplomas, gowns and announcements are ordered in the fall. These are ordered through a Jostens rep who comes to school and meets with seniors.
  • Students are not required to participate in the commencement exercises, but every graduating senior must pay for a diploma. If you have an economic hardship, talk to your counselor
  • Students can wear caps and gowns from students who previously graduated, such as an older sibling, family member or friend.
  • Honors students will receive stoles in different colors to wear with their graduation gown. Certain clubs and honor societies also give cords or tassels to be worn at graduation. The cost of the cords and tassels is determined by individual organizations.
  • The approximate cost of the cap and gown is $65. If a student is not participating in the ceremony, the diploma fee is $25.
  • Every year, approximately 3 speakers are chosen to give an address at the graduation ceremony.
  • Students will audition with their speech in the spring. You can click on this link to find some suggestions and requirements for the speech.
  • All students MUST be at graduation practice if they plan to walk in the graduation ceremony. This practice will be held during final exam week. The times differ each year, but students will be given plenty of prior notice.
  • Normally, students are given 6 tickets for graduation. There is no cost for the tickets, but students only receive 6.
  • Students will be able to purchase a professional photography package from graduation, but it must be ordered BEFORE graduation.
