Welcome to a new school year at Cottonwood Elementary! Our mission at Cottonwood Elementary School is to effectively prepare our students for a successful future by providing a quality education for all of our students in a kind, safe environment. We believe every child can achieve academic success and we have an outstanding staff that truly cares about the education of all our students.

Cottonwood is one of many Campbell County School District (CCSD) elementary schools. Cottonwood has a large attendance area that includes the community of Wright and the outlying regions reaching south toward Converse County, west to Johnson County, east to Weston County, and north to Gillette.

Cottonwood operates on an alternative school calendar serving grades K-6 with an enrollment of around 200 students. Cottonwood is proud to provide art, music, physical education, technology, library/media as well as special education and English as a second language services.

Cottonwood is a Title I school with services designed to help disadvantaged children meet challenging content and student performance standards. This funding allows for professional development for our staff promoting effective instruction for at-risk children and for enriched and accelerated programs.
