World Cultures

Mrs. Bagwell -- Room 326

Campbell County High School

Travel early and travel often. Live abroad, if you can. Understand cultures other than your own. As your understanding of other cultures increases, your understanding of yourself and your own culture will increase exponentially.

--Tom Freston

World Cultures focuses on African and Asian cultures and emphasizes how geography and environmental factors affect the way cultures develop and interact. First-hand accounts and personal anecdotes give students rich insights into the lifestyles of people from diverse cultures. World Cultures shows students how distant cultures can touch their own lives, and it helps students understand the changes taking place around the world. Current events are used to explore and support major world culture studies.

We will explore the following regions throughout this school year:

* Oceania & Australia

* Africa

* Middle East

* Asia
