"Nulla dies sine linea" - Never a day without a line (of READING OR WRITING)!

Welcome to 8th Grade English!

Every effort will be made to keep the website current, but at no time should access to the website be a substitute for proper attention in the classroom, to knowing assigned homework, and assignment deadlines or dates for assessments.

  • The calendar to the right will share nightly homework and deadlines for longer assignments.
  • On each of the unit pages links to documents and assignments may be available to help when absent or forgetful.
  • The link that follows will bring you to the D-school Achievement Center web page. Homework For Team D3 (LEO)

Every effort is made every day to keep the information current with homework, upcoming tests, quizzes and assignments and reminders about important events for the students on the team.

GRAMMAR REVIEW

Readers/Writers Notebooks

Much of the writing/reflections/analysis about literature will be compiled in RWNs. Our Readers/Writers Notebooks will also be used for students to write about and explore new ideas, bringing a more thoughtful and developed style of writing as the year progresses. During the year we will hold mini writing workshops and explore lessons where each student will craft a piece of writing and eventually publish their finished product. Often the ideas for these pieces began in a quick-write from their RWNs. RWNs are also used to take class notes and often homework will be completed there. Before any use, the date and title of the exercise must be listed. This information will be crucial when asked to compile a quarterly table of contents.
