Return to Learn Plan & Extended COVID-19 Learning Plan

District Announcements

  • A Note from the Superintendent - November, 23, 2020
After much discussion regarding the current COVID positivity rate in Branch County, we have made the difficult decision to go to 100% Virtual Instruction for all K-12 students. This change will begin next Monday, November 30th, and will continue for the three weeks up to our winter break. We are optimistic that if everyone does their part to stay home, wear a mask in public, and practice social distancing, the positivity rates will go down and we will be able to return to face-to-face learning on January 4, 2021.
Your child will be bringing any materials home with them on November 23 or 24 that they should need during this three-week period as well as an understanding of what Virtual Instruction will look like on a five-day schedule. Students will need to check their Google Classroom every school day for their assignments.
At this time, our Kids Club Daycare will remain open on their regular schedule; however, the Kinder Learning Academy will close until after the winter break.
Our Wednesday food pickup will continue through December 16th.
We wish all of our families and staff a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We also need everyone to be a part of getting COVID under control so we can get our students back to face to face instruction as soon as possible. Please remember to follow the CDC guidelines:

    • Wear a mask (covering mouth and nose) when around people with whom you do not live.

    • Practice social distancing (maintaining a distance of 6 feet apart).

    • Practice frequent handwashing (using soap for 20 seconds or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol).

    • Follow capacity restrictions of social gatherings.

    • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or with the inside of your elbow and immediately wash your hands.

    • Stay home if you are sick; consider being tested.

    • Answer the phone if the health department contacts you, as a contact tracer may be trying to reach you with important information.

  • Thank you for continuing to practice these guidelines to keep your child and family healthy and safe.
    Sincerely,
    Terry Ann Whelan, Superintendent
