A Little About Mrs. Nilo

This will be my 8th year teaching at Carmel Elementary! Until now, I taught 2nd and 3rd Grade Challenge for 6 years and Kindergarten for a short time before that. Since graduating from Purdue in 2009 (Boiler Up!) with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Reading Specialist, I've also received a Gifted and Talented Licensure and a Masters in Elementary Education.

I grew up in northeast Indiana and have always had a love for kids and teaching, so it was no surprise when I decided to pursue teaching. I also love water sports and sunshine, so I'm always looking forward to summer as much as the students! Traveling has become a hobby of mine as well. I hope to visit as many states as possible with my family overtime!

The most joyful part of my life arrived just over a year ago, Alaina Michele! She makes Mr. Nilo and I laugh every day and is the source of so many fun stories! It's quite possible that my students may come home with stories about Lainey, too.
