Mrs. Kristin Leonard

Wow! This will be my 25th year teaching at College Wood! Am I really that old...I mean, experienced? I graduated from Ball State University where I received a BA in Elementary Education. I also hold a Master’s degree in Special Education & Learning Disabilities from I.U. I have either taught fourth or fifth grade; I love their maturity and enjoy the curriculum at this level.

I am married and have been blessed with three children. Our 16 1/2 year old daughter, Hannah, is entering her junior year at the high school and has long surpassed me in height. Our son, Wyatt, is 12 1/2 years old and full of energy, curiosity, and personality. He is also a 7th grader this year at Creekside! Our second daughter, Stella, will be 9 this September and a 3rd grader here. My husband, Tom, is an avid outdoorsman and keeps himself busy as a Warranty Manager for Drees Homes. Our family is completed by Waylon, our "slightly" active English Pointer.

When I'm not in the classroom, I look forward to Starbuck's coffee, Handel's ice-cream, eating out, listening and singing along to music, exercising in Zumba and cycling classes and running, reading, landscaping, and watching the birds in my backyard (especially the beautiful Cardinals and hummingbirds!)

I am very passionate about my profession and put my heart and a little bit of humor into each day.
