Dr. Donovan O'Brien - Director of Instructional Delivery

Dr. O'Brien began his career in education in 1999. Prior, he worked for a major auto insurance company where he worked as a member of the greenhouse team that overhauled the former Unix system with a new GUI policy management system. A veteran of the Navy (1990 - 1994) and Virginia Army National Guard (1994-2005), he served as a Machinist Mate on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and later, a Combat Engineer (21B). As a member of the 28th Engineer Brigade, he worked with partners in the implementation of a battle tracking, web-based asset manager. A history teacher with the Department of Corrections (1999-2001), his additional duties included managing the local Windows NT network. He began teaching with Culpeper County Public Schools in 2001 as a World History teacher. In 2005, he completed his Master's of Science Degree in Instructional Technologies and would later work as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher through 2014. He completed his Education Specialist Degree (2015) and Gifted Certificate in 2016. Most recently, he completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.).

Gene Beamer - Network Engineer

My name is Gary Beamer, but I go by Gene. I am the Network Engineer at Culpeper County Public Schools. In this role, I am responsible for the oversight of the division's network and software entities. I have been with Culpeper County Public Schools since 2007, where I started as a Network Tech. My wife, Sarah, currently works with Culpeper County Public Schools as the lead school Psychologist. We have two daughters who attend CCPS schools. When I have free time, I enjoy tinkering with just about anything and anything with JEEPS !!

Sheri Armstrong - Lead Technician

My name is Sheri Armstrong.

I am the Lead Network Technician. I have been with Culpeper County Public Schools for 16 years. I was the network building tech at Farmington Elementary for 6 years before I moved to the Technology Department full time. I am married, I have 2 awesome kids, 2 beautiful grandchildren and 3 cats. I enjoy spending time with all of them in my spare time, cats included!

Jason Rice - Network Administrator

Jason Rice recently joined the CCPS technology department. A graduate from Fauquier County High School, Jason completed his undergraduate work in Information Technologies at George Mason University. Most recently, he has enrolled in a Master's program at Virginia Tech to complete a graduate degree in cybersecurity. A transplant from the corporate world, Jason was a Senior Systems Administrator with Collins Aerospace.

Nathan Atkinson - Network Technician

My name is Nate Atkinson and I currently hold the position of Network Technician. I started working for Culpeper County Public Schools in 2015 after graduating from Orange County High School with my A+ and Network+ certifications. My primary responsibilities are providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, software, and hardware. I enjoy troubleshooting hardware issues, as well as repairing and replacing system components in PCs and laptops. I also like working with 3D printing, which includes designing objects and occasionally printer support.

Matt Beachboard - Network Technician

My name is Matt Beachboard, and I have been a Network Technician with CCPS since September 2013. My wife’s name is Cathy, and I am the father of seven children. I currently have five children attending school in Culpeper County Public Schools. I attended Germanna Community College prior to working at CCPS, and graduated with an Information Systems Technology degree in Network Security. My interests include, retro video game collecting, and video game restorations, along with video game console repairs.

Jared Brown - Network Technician

Hello, my name is Jared! I am a Network Technician for Culpeper County Public Schools. I am currently COMPTIA A+ Certified am working towards more certifications in the near future. I am a bit of a Renaissance man and have worked in multiple fields before settling into the field of Information Technologies. Building and repairing computers started as a hobby that eventually grew to be my main passion in life. Other hobbies I like to share about myself include solving puzzles, gaming, learning language, training dogs, and finding new hobbies! I enjoy collecting information, and sharing that information when the topic arises in conversation.

Debbie Corbin - Network Technician

I have lived in Virginia all of my life and am a graduate of CCHS (in 1983). I am married and have a daughter that is a senior at CCHS. I have been working in the IT field for over 20 years. I enjoy providing technological support to our school system.

Brandon Hunt - IT Electronics Technician

Hello, I am Brandon Hunt. I am a Virginia Tech graduate as of December 2018. I studied both Criminology and Sociology with a minor in Peace Studies and Crime Prevention. I hold the position of IT Electronics Technician. I handle projects and work orders for running network cable, adjusting and installing security cameras, creating new badges, and managing the clocks and bell schedules.

Chase Johnson - Network Technician

I have split majority of my upbringing in Southern California and Middle Tennessee before coming to Culpeper. I am married with two kids (enrolled in CCPS). I have been in numerous experience opportunities in my career working with some of the biggest corporations in the world like Dell, Ryder, and General Motors. Im happy to be helping in the schools giving the staff service getting their technology in peak operation.

Joseph Lunceford - Network Technician

I am Joseph Lunceford, Network Technician extraordinaire. A CCPS graduate, I joined the Army immediately afterwards and was suddenly repairing computers and other technical equipment in Iraq. Eventually I found my way back home to Culpeper where I’ve been working for CCPS for the last 9 years. I am CompTIA A+ and Network+ certified and even instruct preparation courses for the Germanna Community College Workforce program to help others attain their A+ certification. Like any good tech geek, I’ve built my own PC. I also enjoy collecting and playing vintage and modern video game systems. And you might even catch me taking in a classic film at Culpeper’s Library of Congress Theater. Oh and sorry ladies, I’ve been happily married to Heather for 8 years now.

Rob Smith - AV Technician

My name is Rob Smith; I am a former U.S. Marine and currently hold the position of Network Technician.

Before becoming a network tech, I was a DOD contractor at the Pentagon and a Harley Davidson mechanic before that. If I had to pick a specialty, it would be hardware. Whether it is replacing, repairing, or building computers that is what I enjoy the most. Even soldering small electronics is something that I enjoy as well. I obtained my Information Systems degree from Germanna Community College in 2015 and helping people resolve technology issues is something that brings me great satisfaction.
