Spirit Rock

Dear JB Watkins Families and Staff,

The JB Watkins Elementary PTA is excited to announce a new and fun way for our school community to celebrate, encourage one another, and show school spirit — the JB Watkins Spirit Rock! The Spirit Rock is a creative opportunity for families to share special messages such as student birthdays, words of encouragement, appreciation for teachers and staff, or messages of school pride. The goal is simple: spread kindness, inspire joy, and bring our school community together in a positive and uplifting way. 

The Spirit Rock also serves as a PTA fundraiser that helps support programs and initiatives for our students and teachers. The first design on our spirit rock is up now to celebrate January 8th’s Emerald (the gem of generosity) House Breakfast that morning. Huge thank you to art teacher Mrs. Duignam for painting this!! Take a peek next time you’re at school. Location: If you are looking at the school it is located towards the right next to the tree behind the bench on the sidewalk. 

Use of the Spirit Rock is open to current JB Watkins Elementary families only and requires a reservation.

How it works:

• Reservations are required and are available on a first-come, first-served basis via SignUpGenius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C044DA5A92CA1F5C43-60313022-20252026#/
   

• The cost is $20 per day (4:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.), rain or shine. Payment can be made via GiveBacks: https://jbwpta.givebacks.com/shop/items/3f8e242af0
   

• Families may begin painting the rock at 4:30 p.m. the day before their reserved date so it is ready to be enjoyed the following morning.
   

• A parent must be present while painting, and all messages must be encouraging, kind, and uplifting.
   

Keep the attached flyer handy! We will upload it to the Watkins Portal as well. It includes additional guidelines, helpful painting tips, and reservation/payment links. We will continue to circulate it throughout the Miner Message emails.

We are grateful to both LuckStone and Watkins Nurseries, who helped bring this exciting addition to JB Watkins. we can’t wait to see the creativity and positivity it brings to our campus.
