Welcome to the Crenshaw Cardinals' School Counseling Website!

Thelma Crenshaw Elementary School is located in Chesterfield County, Virginia, a suburb of the capital, Richmond.

The school counseling department is staffed by one counselor serving approximately 650 students in grades PK-5.

Dorothy G. Walker, M.Ed.

Ms. Walker received her M.Ed in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and her B.A. degree from University of Richmond. This year marks her 16th year at Crenshaw. She has taught PK, 5th and 6th grades, and has been a school counselor at the elementary and middle school levels. She works with every student at Crenshaw and serves on many committees to support student success.

Ms. Walker's areas of expertise in her work with elementary students include academic success, social/emotional learning, college/career readiness, positive self-concept, mindfulness, growth mindset, and resiliency in facing difficult life events.
