LOOK OVER THE SUMMER ASSIGNMENT PACKET (THE LINK IS BELOW) AND CREATE AN OUTLINE ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS. This is the heart of the assignment. Completing this is fundamental to your completion of the rest of the assignment and it will give you a foundation for understanding the first unit of study once the school year starts. COMPLETE THE OUTLINE IN AROUND TWO HOURS - you will be reading the other chapters in this textbook during the school year, so work on comprehension and efficiency now! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PW_ZG5HYqw-FHwVmLJVfPLhyGdjmMSeRO4VBHuycPIs/edit?usp=sharing

Part 2 of the summer assignment requires you to use your chapter outline to take a multiple choice practice quiz. You can complete this to check the quality of your outline and your understanding of the reading of Chapter 1. This is not graded for accuracy. You may use your outline on the quiz, but do not use the chapter reading. The quiz: https://forms.gle/YZAZrrKxjMJvM9jN6

Part 3 of the summer assignment is a "key concepts" practice quiz that you can complete to check your retention of information from the reading of Chapter I, completed from your memory of the reading. This is not graded for accuracy. The quiz: https://forms.gle/XXPxSNKiRnu39nSC8

Last, complete the Crash Course video assignments. The AP World History curriculum runs from 1200 CE to the present, but it is important for students to have an idea of the developments prior to 1200 so that they understand the historical context of the 1200-present era. For this reason, students should complete these questions that correlate to Crash Course videos on the civilizations that existed before 1200. All answers must be handwritten on your own paper. http://bit.ly/APWorld_crashcourse
