Volunteerism at Oakstone
The very existence of Oakstone is a testament to the power of volunteers. Oakstone was started by eight parents, all volunteers, committed to doing whatever it took to open a school that would be an appropriate educational setting for the unique academic needs of their children. Dr. Rebecca Morrison, the schools founder, volunteered full-time for the first two years the school was open. Many community members, even those without students at the school, stepped forward and volunteered countless hours to help. When a child becomes an Oakstone student, he or she benefits from the years of that selfless service.
