A little bit about me . . .
I was never a librarian before coming on staff at Corpus Christi but I had a long history of working with children, preschool thru high school, through church ministries, camps and of course having four children of my own, and now three grandchildren. Having a great love for children's books didn't hurt either.
One of my great joys is reading great books to children. Some of our family's favorite stories were Anne of Green Gables, The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dragon Rider, There's a Monster at the End of this Book, A Bad Case of Stripes, and oh so many more!
I love how books can fill us with wonder, take us to other lands, help us understand different cultures and ourselves, or just make us laugh. It is my desire that when our students come into the library they will feel safe and loved. I hope they will fall in love with reading and carry that into their adult life.
But I am more than a librarian. First and foremost I am a beloved child of God. I love spending time with my family. I enjoy gardening and exploring gardens, playing games, doing puzzles, and of course reading. I have traveled in about 18 countries and most of the States. I volunteer with Operation Christmas Child, sending gift-filled shoeboxes to children around the world.
My favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
