Hi, I’m Mrs. Day!
I believe that every child has unique gifts, and it’s my joy to help nurture those gifts each day. In our classroom, I focus on connection before content, because I know kids learn best when they feel safe, seen, and supported.
My teaching style is very hands-on and kinesthetic—I love getting students up, moving, and actively engaged in their learning. I also use brain-based strategies for self-regulation so students can build the skills they need to manage their emotions and focus on learning. One of my biggest goals is to bring a therapy dog into our school, to add comfort, connection, and encouragement for students.
I earned my Master’s in Elementary Education from Emporia State University, and this is my 5th year of teaching. Before I was in the classroom, I also taught ballet, which gave me a passion for creativity, movement, and expression—things I still bring into my teaching today.
In our classroom:
We value relationships first—connection before content.
We treat one another with kindness and respect.
We celebrate differences and unique strengths.
We see mistakes as part of learning and growth.
We create a safe, welcoming place where everyone belongs.
I’m so excited for this year, and I can’t wait to learn and grow together with you!
