*Send in one small snack daily and a spill proof water bottle (WATER ONLY) labeled with your child's name.
*Please pack your child's snack separately from his/her lunch so he/she doesn't accidentally eat it!
*Practice your weekly sight word(s) and read books together for homework!
*Send your child's daily folder back to school in his/her tote bag everyday EMPTIED of the papers we send home.
*Make sure your child has a seasonal change of clothes in his/her locker in case of spills or accidents. Please send this in at the beginning of school in a gallon ziplock bag labeled with his/her name.
**District Policy: I must have transportation changes in writing with a parent signature. I cannot accept transportation changes over the phone or email. This is for your child's safety. If you forget to send a note in your child's daily folder, you may email me a picture of the note with your signature and date.

10 Tips for Parents
Read together every night. Choose simple books so your child can follow along.
Sing the alphabet song, and talk about the letters and sounds that they make.
Practice identifying colors, shapes, and numbers in real life and in books.
Encourage your child to speak clearly and in full sentences.
Practice fine motor skills by encouraging your child to color, use scissors, and play with Play-doh.
Take a simple word (ex., cat, hit) and practice coming up with words that rhyme.
Visit the local library. Get your child excited about books and reading.
Find everyday opportunities to count out loud and encourage your child to count along with you.
Give your child two- three step directions and ask your child to repeat them to you.
Get your child used to putting on his/her own jacket and cleaning up after themselves.
