Georgia History

Welcome to Georgia History! Georgia’s eighth grade social studies curriculum is a study of Georgia’s geography, history, and government. We will study the following topics:

Geography, Prehistory and the Age of Exploration, Colonization, American Revolution, American Government, Westward Expansion, Antebellum Era, Civil War & Reconstruction, Progressive Era – World War I, Great Depression, New Deal, World War II, Modern Georgia, and State and Local Government.

My goals for the year are:

to help each student see themselves as historians

to develop each student's interest in Georgia's history

to provide a supportive and fun environment

to help each student progress toward high school
