Welcome to Ms. Lepine's Second Grade page!

Second Grade is a fun year in school. We will cover A LOT of information, review, and master our curriculum. We will also work on social skills, such as, SELF-CONTROL, COOPERATION, RESPONSIBILITY and many more life skills. I am so happy to spend this school year with your and your family! My goal during our experience together is for your child to show growth emotionally and academically. I can't wait to work together to provide the best Second Grade school year for you and your child!

Just a little information about me: I am a mother of three children. My boys are in 12th and 11th grade. My daughter is moving up to Middle School this year! We have interesting pets at home including a bearded dragon, two aquatic turtles, a snall colony, two cats that live in our back yard and sweet new baby kitten. This will be my 10th year teaching. I have taught six years of first grade, one year of 3rd grade and this will be my third year teaching second. I cannot wait to spend the year with you!

This year's curriculum:

In Reading will be using "Into Reading" as our Reading and Phonics curriculums. We will be using the "360 Writing" program to help our readers become writers too!

In Math we are continuing to use iReady!! It's an exciting new program that uses whole group, small group, differentiated lessons, and technology. The program creates individual pathways for EACH student. This allows us to both support and challenge all of students every day in VERY PURPOSEFUL ways.

In Science we will continue to explore with StemScopes.

In Social Studies will continue to investigate history with our magical newspapers and Studies Weekly program.

We will be having our Specials Enrichment classes everyday. Students will experience Music, Art, PE, and Reading Enrichment.

With our Morning Meetings, we are working on Social Skills and identifying needs for interventions. We have a lot of fun planned this exciting school year!
