INTRO to DRAMA

INTRO TO THEATRE FUNDAMENTALOS/DRAMATIC ARTS 1:  In this class, student will sample a little bit of every aspect of our educational theatre offerings.  The class is designed as the "starting point" for high school students who have an interest in theatre/drama - even if not on the stage and in the spotlight.  In this Intro to Dramatic Arts class, we will briefly visit units and lessons on Theatre History; Stage Directions; Theatre Vocabulary (so you sound like you know what’s going on); Theatre Etiquette; Technical Theatre, and Pantomime.  You will also get a basic introduction to: Vocal Technique; Acting; Scene Preparation; Stage Movement; Musical Theatre; Character Analysis; Props; Set; Lights; Sound; Producing a Play; Audition Techniques; Costuming; Makeup; and Monologue/Duet Acting.
