ACTING I & II: Both Acting Classes are PERFORMANCE CLASSES, and all students will be required to perform individually, in groups, and as a class. In Acting, students will practice improvisation, cold reads of scripts, physical theatre, character development, stage presence, monologue and duet acting presentations, and accents, among other tools and skills. Students will perform monologues, duet scenes, and group selections.
Classes will collaborate to produce at least one play for public performance each semester. Students will be required to participate in and attend those productions outside of school hours.
Students will become familiar with a variety of influential contributors to acting including Stanislavski, Checkhov, and Meisner. Students will make use of Uta Hagen's techniques for "enlightened stage acting."
