Meet the Counselors
What do elementary school counselors do?
Teach classroom counseling lessons.
Facilitate short-term small group counseling.
Provide immediate and short-term individual counseling.
Work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
Consult with parents.
Provide holiday assistance
Provide information and/or referrals for community resources to families.
Coordinate and manage gifted testing.
GIfted Information (Horizons Program)
The Gifted Testing Program is governed by CCBOE Policy IDDD and Policy IDDD (Procedure).
Gifted testing is conducted twice per year. Fall gifted testing is conducted for referred new students only (which includes new 1st through 12th-grade students entering into the county). Spring testing is conducted for all referred K-12 students who have not been tested within the last 2 years.
