This is my sixth year at CMS teaching Physical Science.
I have a background in biology as well as grades 6-12 science education. I love all things science and look forward to a wonderful school year!

Course Sequence and Pacing Guide
As in high school, this course is divided into two semesters. Each semester consists of two 9-week grading periods. The general topics covered in each semester are as follows:
1st Semester: atoms and bonding, conservation of matter, properties of solutions, phases of matter and molecular motion, nuclear structure and radioactive decay
2nd Semester: motion and forces, energy, waves, electricity and magnetism

Semester grades:
Course grade: 80%
Classroom assignments: 40%
Assessments 60%
Regular assessments: 50%
Each benchmark: 5%
Semester exam: 20%
This is a high school course and can be counted as 1 of your 4 science credits required to graduate. Please keep this in mind and take this class seriously throughout the year.
