Pupils have been learning about cyberbullying, what it looks like, how it can affect mental health, and how to report it safely.
The session includes real examples, short videos, and activities that help pupils:
Recognise different types of online bullying (mean messages, sharing images, exclusion from group chats, impersonation).
Understand the emotional and psychological impact bullying can have.
Learn how to block and report abusive messages or accounts on apps such as Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.
Know how to seek help, both through school support systems and online reporting tools.
Press and hold on the Snap, Chat, or Story you want to report.
Tap Report.
Choose the reason (e.g. Harassment or bullying).
Follow the on-screen steps and submit.
You can also block the user by pressing and holding their name → Manage Friendship → Block.
To report a video, comment, or message:
Video: Tap the Share arrow → Report → Select reason (Bullying or harassment, etc.).
Comment: Press and hold the comment → Report → Choose reason.
Message: Open the chat → Tap the three dots → Report.
To block a user: go to their profile → tap the three dots → Block.
To report a post, story, or comment:
Post or Story: Tap the three dots (…) → Report → It’s inappropriate → Bullying or harassment.
Comment: Swipe left (iPhone) or hold down (Android) → Tap Report → Choose reason.
Message (DM): Open the message → Tap the “i” (info) or three dots → Report.
To block: Go to their profile → three dots → Block.
Extra tools:
Use Restrict Mode to limit contact without the person knowing.
Enable Hidden Words under Settings → Privacy → Hidden Words to block offensive messages automatically.
