Have you had any major revelations or learned anything new about yourself during the pandemic?
I learned that I love making art during my free time. During quarantine, I had so much free time in my room, that I picked up new hobbies. It gave me something to do when the world was on a pause, and it was really cool to see my improvements.

Throughout the pandemic I had a greater realization of what the world is actually like since I had time over the summer and spring to pay attention to the news. I learned large amounts of new information about social issues, politics, and much more. There was so much information that I was completely unaware of and without the pandemic, I probably would not have gotten into depth about it.

I think I learned a lot about myself especially what my priorities are. Mostly everyone wasn’t productive for the first few months of quarantine but then I realized that I could be doing something with my time. I developed a better work ethic especially for online school and I started running with cross country. I learned how to be by myself and be okay with it more. I tried many different hobbies and things and am still trying to make the best out of the situation.
-Alivia Bear, Freshman
I learned a lot about how much I rely on social interaction for my mental health. I love being around people, but when that’s not possible, it’s often hard to feel “complete.” The pandemic forced me to spend some time working on myself and on certain passion projects I may not have been able to work on normally due to lack of free time.
-Hannah Kurczeski, Junior
Through the pandemic, I was able to learn to always appreciate the little things in life, and where you are in your life now. I never thought freshman year that I would end up missing out on things like homecoming, fans at the games, etc.
