Word Wall

Work - using a force to move an object

Energy - the ability to do work.

Law of conservation of energy - states that energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form of energy to another.

Force - a push or a pull on an object

Magnetism - a physical phenomenon produced by the motion of electric charge, resulting in attractive and repulsive forces between objects

Electric Current - The continuous flow of electric charges through a material

Electricity - A form of energy created by the movement of charged particles such as electrons.

Electromagnet - a coiled conductor that has a soft iron core and that acts as a magnet when an electric current is passed through the coil

Ferrous Metals - Metals that can be attracted to a magnet

Magnetic Field - The area of magnetic force around a magnet

Magnetic Pole - one of the two opposite ends of a magnet usually labeled North or South

Electric Circuit - a complete, unbroken path through which electric charges can flow

Series Circuit - A circuit in which all parts are connected end to end to provide a single path of current.

Parallel Circuit - A closed electrical circuit in which the current is divided into multiple paths and then returns via a common path to complete the circuit.
