Your Voice Matters! (Faithfully article on the historic renewal survey weekend - June 2024)
The Good Shepherd communicates with and deeply understands his sheep. In this Pastoral Renewal Survey, the Church endeavours to truly listen to the thoughts, needs, concerns, and hopes of our parishioners, so that we may better serve and accompany God's people on their journey. "My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27.

What an exciting time for us in the Diocese! Over 44 parishes sent their Parish Renewal Team members to an orientation which took place simultaneously on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at St. Luke's and St. Albert the Great's in Calgary, St. Martha's in Lethbridge and Holy Family Parish at Medicine Hat. Close to 300 parish renewal team members joined in the orientation day, which was filled with lively conversation and learning opportunities. Read article & view photos

The Renewal Leadership Team produced Christmas note cards in Advent 2023, aiming to assist parishioners in spreading care and love during the Advent and Christmas season. Ideas were shared on using the cards, such as leaving them at colleagues' desks, sharing them within school communities, including them in Christmas cards and gifts, or offering them to a stranger in need of cheer. The Pastoral staff were tasked with announcing the purpose of these cards during Mass, ensuring their distribution among parishioners through ushers and ministry leaders, and making them available for outreach ministries. 250 participants joined the Renewal Leadership Team online session in December 2023, “Welcome Home: How to make our parishes more inviting” with speakers Fr. Troy Nguyen and Dr. Lance Dixon, and moderated by Dr. Bonnie Annicchiarico. If you missed it, or would like a recap, please find the following:

What an amazing response! Almost 1000 participants joined four gatherings across the diocese in November 2023. Sincere gratitude to each host-parish who went above and beyond by providing hospitality, food, welcome, ministries and an outpouring of support. The spirit at each gathering was hopeful and there was overall excitement for renewal. Bishop McGrattan and the Renewal Leadership Team are filled with gratitude for your encouragement and for your eagerness to move forward.
