Why Partner With the Catholic Foundation

The reflective responsorial psalm from the Gospel of John proclaims: “Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.” By following the teachings of Jesus in our daily life, we can all achieve the ultimate forever goal of heaven. Forever is a worthy goal to strive for here on earth.

I am excited to share information about our partnership with the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania whose work ensure Catholic causes and the gospel message live forever. The newsletter you are holding - Assumption BVM Forever! - is essentially a blueprint outlining everlasting life for Assumption BVM Parish.

With the blessing of our finance committee, we created “true” endowment funds managed by the Catholic Foundation. A healthy endowment fund safeguards our future by providing a steady source of income to support parish programs and activities. 

With an endowment, the principal can grow with additional gifts and prudent investing. An endowment fund provides the perfect repository for donors to make contributions — especially planned gifts such as a gift in a will, memorials, IRA transfers or insurance and investment beneficiary designations.

With the effects of the pandemic still on our minds, embracing Assumption BVM Forever! is important. Later gifts to our endowment funds put us on a path forward with a clear vision on building a solid future for our parish. Imagine if every Catholic left a gift in their will or made a transfer from their IRA (at age 72) to their

favorite Catholic cause. The impact would be tremendous.

We are blessed to see so many parishioners in prayer in our church. We welcome and encourage all to continue to return to daily and weekly Mass to experience the presence of Christ.
