Marketing:
Community Education and Lifelong Learning (CELL) staff take responsibility for marketing all courses through the Continuing Education catalog, online registration software, submitting advertisements to local news agencies, and featuring classes on the CELL Facebook page. Instructors are encouraged to collaborate with CELL staff to promote their courses to the community.
When can I access my classroom?
You can generally expect to be able to enter your classroom at least 30 minutes prior to class. If you require additional setup time, please contact the Community Education and Lifelong Learning office as soon as possible. If the door is locked when you arrive, contact Campus Security at 307-268-2688 to unlock the door for you. Some rooms can now be unlocked remotely.
What if someone shows up to class who is not on the roster?
Only registered students may participate in a class. If someone shows up that is not registered, ask them to leave and have them contact Community Education and Lifelong Learning with any questions. Registrations are not transferable.
May I use handouts?
Submit the originals to the OLLI/Comm Ed Coordinator at least three business days prior to the date needed to give us time to print and collate. Limit photocopied materials to 10 or fewer double-sided pages. Encourage class participants to visit websites and download the articles used in class.
When do I get paid?
Classes that end before the 15th of the month are paid at the end of the month; classes that end after the 15th are paid at the end of the following month.
May I purchase materials for a class?
Please provide an estimated budget for your class materials to the OLLI/Comm Ed staff member you are working with. The OLLI/Comm Ed Coordinator must preapprove purchases and provide a budget. Save your receipts. The college will not reimburse unapproved purchases or transactions without receipts.
How do I get help with the AV equipment?
CELL staff can provide AV training prior to the start of your class. Contact us at 307-268-3401 to schedule an appointment at least one week prior to your class start date. We recommend that you bring your presentation on a flash drive or access a cloud-based service.
What should I do if there is an emergency on campus while I’m teaching?
Create a CC Alert account at http://www.caspercollege.edu/alert. The college will send text and phone messages via this system in an emergency on campus.
Following are general emergency instructions.
▪ Fire or the fire alarm: quickly exit the building, do not use the elevator
▪ Tornado warning: go to an interior space on the lowest level away from windows
▪ Flash flood warning: go to the highest level in the building
▪ Imminent danger: run away from the danger. If fleeing is not possible, lock or barricade doors and hide. Follow instructions provided on CC Alert.
