In AY 2018-2019, the Cleveland Humanities Collaborative developed a program aimed at preparing graduate students at CWRU for teaching careers at community colleges. Read more about the program in the CAS art/sci update (Jan 2020).
The Humanities Teaching Careers at Community Colleges (HTC3) program includes a Fall seminar (HUMN 422), which introduces participants to teaching, learning, and working in the community college environment. HUMN 422 appears on students’ transcripts as a zero-credit seminar; it is graded Pass/No Pass. The program also offers a competitive Mellon Fellowship in Humanities Teaching in the Spring. Mellon Fellows are paired with a Cuyahoga Community College faculty member to observe and participate in a semester-long course within their discipline. Successful completion of the Fall seminar is a prerequisite for consideration for the Mellon Fellowship, which includes a $1,500 stipend.
For more information about the program, please contact Nate Kruse (nbk17@case.edu).
