CWRU COVID-19 TaskForce

Case Western Reserve University established a Coronavirus Research Task Force, led by virologist Jonathan Karn, PhD, and physician and researcher Nora Singer, MD. Valued partners include the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, MetroHealth, University Hospitals, and the VA. This initiative established working groups to organize faculty by research interests to enable collaborations as well as target funding opportunities to initiate and facilitate SARS-CoV-2 research.

To date, the working group proposal submissions achieved more than $8 million in sponsored research awarded to Case Western Reserve University for SARS-CoV research. Working groups include:

  • Virology and Drug Discovery

  • Immunology and Immunotherapy

  • Clinical Trials and Clinical Samples

  • Behavioral Health and Population Outcomes

  • Biosafety

The upcoming Dissemination Day will showcase several of the outstanding pilot projects, presented by the awarded PI's.
