1678 Fort Street Housing Cooperative is a diverse and tight-knit 55+ community.

Our cozy 4-storey apartment building was constructed in 1965, then incorporated as a co-operative in 1981.  Our community consists of 23 one-bedroom units, 13 two-bedroom units, and a beautiful rooftop amenities room.

We are conveniently located on Fort Street, right between downtown and Royal Jubilee, with shops and services an easy walk, cycle, or bus ride away.

A housing co‐op is a legal association of members, and is a form of shared ownership, which provides homes to its members, who purchase a share and pay a monthly housing charge.  Members own the co‐op; the co‐op owns the housing.  Members work together to create a viable business and a co‐operative community.  A co‐op is a home, not an investment, and our goal is to create security of tenure, not equity.
