About Dr. Alvarez

Dr. Edel Alvarez is our practicing physician at Casa Clinic.  As a General Family Medicine Doctor you can expect the upmost exceptional care, dedication and communication as his patient.  Whether you are in need of your annual visit, sick or living with a chronic condition, Dr. Alvarez will provide whole-person care to support your individual needs.

Edel Alvarez, M.D is a father of two and a husband to his wife Rebeca Lauren, NP who is our on-site clinic psychiatrist. Having a family has taught Dr. Alvarez that health is important to all especially to those who are in need of one on one attention. After studying medicine at the University of Havana School of Medicine in Cuba, he went on to receive his medical degree at the Universidad Federada School of Medicine in San Juda, Costa Rica. He also received his ECFMG Certification (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) after passing the US Medical License Examination. 

In addition Dr. Alvarez is also a US Army Veteran, prolific artist, bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish and was awarded a Certificate Of Excellence in Patient Care in 2013 and 2014 in the Metropolitan Hospital, Puerto Rico and recognized as a CarePlus and HUMANA 5-Star Physician as well as being Licensed to Practice Medicine in the State of Florida by the State Board. 

About Dr. Lauren

Dr. Rebecca Lauren is our on-site psychiatrist who sees and treats patients that are established with Dr. Alvarez. Dr. Lauren has practiced Family Medicine since 2014 and has practiced Psychiatry since 2019. In 2014 Dr. Lauren was Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from AANP (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners) and was the Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) in 2019.

Dr. Lauren completed her nursing degree at South University Tampa and University of North Florida Jacksonville. She is also a member of the Professional Organization of the Neuroscience Education Institute, and Licensed to practice in the State of Florida as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse).
